Legal Aid

Sometimes individuals who require legal help in court cannot afford to pay for a lawyer. If these individuals are considered low-income, they may qualify to receive legal aid. If this is the case, a lawyer can be appointed to them at low or no cost.

If you feel you need a lawyer but cannot afford to pay for one on the income that you currently have, you can contact the legal aid office in your city to see if you qualify for their help.

In Alberta, you can check the Legal Aid Alberta website.

To find the closest legal aid office in other provinces, check the CanLaw website.
