Abuse or Violence in the Family

In Canada, everyone has the right to live free from abuse. If your husband is mean to you (for example, he calls you stupid, makes fun of your English, kicks and punches you, does not give you money to buy what you need), you can do something about this.

There are laws that protect you from being abused by your husband. Go to RoseNet: Law and Abused Immigrant Women at www.rosenet.ca for more information.
